Overview

Before or after desktop crisis media training, we can evaluate your crisis media plans and processes by simulating a disaster at your site and testing your media response. This can be delivered as part of a more general business recovery exercise or as a stand-alone media management exercise for PR teams and spokespeople.

Realistic

We agree a crisis scenario with you which we might initiate the night before the exercise. This could take the form of a press interview with one of the participants, which will result in a local morning newspaper article we will have written. Throughout the day we escalate the crisis; our journalists bombard your crisis team with phone calls and requests; they generate television and radio bulletins, blogs and newspaper articles; they put spokespeople under increasing pressure; it is as realistic and relevant as possible.

Expert moderation

Our facilitator is a journalist with PR experience who acts as ringmaster for the exercise. As observer and moderater, they provide escalation updates and a full end-of-training summary and analysis. This is then worked up into a full report, packed with practical advice and recommendations on how to handle future crisis effectively.

Consultancy support

We also provide consultancy support to review your crisis media plan and rewrite it with you as appropriate. Our Managing Director, Andrew Caesar-Gordon, is a highly experienced former FTSE100 and Government Corporate Communications adviser. Together with our journalists, he is available to offer a discrete consultation service on any issues that you might have.

On behalf of the whole team I would like to thank you for an excellent and mind expanding experience the last two days. We learnt valuable lessons both as a team and specifically in crisis management and communication - a tough but fantastic experience.
